I would recommend getting a utility like SlimDrivers and seeing whether there are drivers for you to update. Windows 10 generally updates to something which it considers to be most compatible but not necessarily the latest drivers. SlimDrivers looks for the latest which can solve the problem. I've tested SlimDrivers and it makes an uptdate but behaviour is the same : shutting down instead of sleeping. |

In that case, I have to ask: when you start the computer after it has been "shut down," does it load all of the startup applications in the same manner as it would when you turn it on for the first time or are these applications already in memory? If the latter, I would suggest what a previous poster claimed to be correct and say that it is indeed going into hibernation rather than sleep (which some people consider preferable). - -- Slimer EFF & OpenMedia member / IFAW, Mozilla & PETA supporter -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJWhCd8AAoJEIwFfgf/rr+udOUH/R1kLlPnZBTn2KpZ5LJUi1++ mAN6PYb00Wkog7ZAPHxxs3lVfQt5Wjuz90fS8/4eJjKt/iBb/7fCIxt4upBcQ2/M XQ40L/hetX6PtyUN+oJ/hphsP0UC05X9gyN7e7SJGNklQucIr5EVaffDiig94Stx O0D/VdPhBF7vNgDPbB5lrq3Gi51Z1oTddnOmheJjHcFlAIFGSIvYn1 tXWK/xhaVh wG7xds20SAye+0dyWU7C7ePVU7Y/uVuFszV18unEvF7MAU1eFGdqKwRQr2tdhXj6 pCuxQZx0sNQ4oC2CN7C1ThQuKPsxcSYPZNiXkJXsICULLEdQpE CFPXFdGVD2JAA= =Z0/U -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Yes, it start like a fresh start, after a cold reboot. No application, have stay in memory. However, it's a complete shutdown when I want to sleep or hibernate. |

It must have since he indicated that the "laptop doesn't sleep as in
the past." I'm pointing the finger at a BIOS setting myself. I've looked at the bios settings and there is nothing to setup for this. However, it was working few days ago and I've didn't changed anything in the bios. |

Since the sleep/hibernate function is connected with the video driver, I'd try uninstalling the video driver, rebooting, check sleep. If it still shuts off, restart and reinstall the latest video driver for your system. Just maybe... |

It's a little bit harder than usualy. Py laptop has 2 video cards. - integrated intel HD 4600 - Nvidia GTX 860M I've updated both without any resolution. however, there seems to be a problem with that. Few times ago, computer go in sleeping mode (real sleep) after 2 min. Even when all sleeping setting where set to 60. |

I would suggest using the other GPU in your computer and going to sleep with it just to see if it changes anything. When I had my problem with Miracast, I could stream my laptop's content to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter just fine if I used the Intel HD 4600 but failed if I used the GTX 970M. It's possible that the sleep will work correctly with the 4600 but that it will fail with the 860M. If that's the case, you know that it's a NVIDIA driver issue and will simply have to wait for them to update it. - -- Slimer EFF & OpenMedia member / IFAW, Mozilla & PETA supporter -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJWhUFUAAoJEIwFfgf/rr+uAEEH/2uCmu2dAqnJG67QfcHbzUpo 1uT7ysA/10Wh8sTfL22seeBKGqX/Et/qCtVA0Odzs5E66u5A6nGpdNknPsju4Z0r qvqiQyf3tBYpuotAbhXDsfCcRIM75EIeW62UQ/7Hc+DnYTvKH+iJGQy1NoVj3DNc IuiqM42k4S5t0fqF3akhLkXGPG9aR0qB9m9d4pu8hv3sXCsIN7 uGBPWZCtvm94l3 Umkbr73PRPvYQ2AOhHGPb+S34Uhz+rv+exQRMfjvw1Ibb3NvYI 5RELBgjGz17sJl zPq7OqCGmSfLKWFP/SliPG3lcE4CiIvWeZQBQDjD5ude1QuTsUz+EbofjU4J7+I= =vw4j -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
