Can you "hide" an flash drive's drive letter?
Hi All,
I can not do this myself as I am running virtual machine and it mounts USB drive in an unusual manner. Can you "hide" (remove) a flash drive's drive letter, remove the drive, then reinstall the drive, and have Windows 7 still honor the request that the drive be hidden? I am hoping Windows reads the UUID and uses that to honor the request each time it is inserted. Many thanks, -T |

I wouldn't rely on Windows for this though, I use USB Drive Letter Manager (USBDLM) from Uwe Sieber for this kinda stuff. Regards, -- ! _\|/_ Sylvain / ! Regards, I get away with it all the time with permanently attached USB drives, but I have never had anyone remove one and reinstall it. I program directly with MountVol. Batch programming is a pain in the ass. |

And, do you mean no drive letter assigned or something else? -- To prevent yourself from being a victim of cyber stalking, it's highly recommended you visit he https://tekrider.net/pages/david-brooks-stalker.php ================================================== = I find it ironic that the colours red, white, and blue stand for freedom, until they're flashing behind you. |
