Memory for Windows XP Pro
I am running a Dell 340T Workstation with a 2.53
processor, 1 Gb memory and 36Gb SCSI drive. Operating system is Windows XP Pro. I would like to know if an upgrade to 2Gb memory will enhance the operation of this unit. Will Windows XP Pro utilize the extra memory or are there barriers to usage? Generally, I find the computer unimpressive in response time for mundane operations, ie Word, Excel, Outlook and some Accounting software. |

Memory for Windows XP Pro
1G of Memory is more than enough for the Applications you mention.
Unimpressive Response time maybe caused by too many programs running in the background, Drive needing Defrag, Cleanup of Registry and Hard Drive, Services that could be disabled try www.blackviper.com for info and also certain windows updates. Try System Mechanic for 30 days free. www.iolo.com "Brian Mosher" wrote in message ... I am running a Dell 340T Workstation with a 2.53 processor, 1 Gb memory and 36Gb SCSI drive.
