Default faxing with a cable connection

Indeed, it looked to me like the original poster was asking if he can use

a
phone line for faxes at the same time he's using cable for Internet. I
assumed from his post that he has BOTH a cable modem and a fax modem

because
I've never seen a cable modem with the RJ-11 connector required for a

phone
line. It would, therefore, be pretty much impossible for him to connect

his
phone line to his cable modem. Then again, I'm not all that familiar with
the various brands of cable modems, so my connector assumption could well

be
in error; I've seen some pretty strange things attempted...

And I don't have a cable 'modem' (I have DSL) so I could be talking out by
bottom - I assumed that cable and DSL use more or less the same type of
equipment.
