headphones
I have had my pc for 2 weeks. This is the first time I
have used XP. My problem is my headphones will not work. I have JBl speakers which work fine, but when I plug in the headphones I hear nothing.Any ideas? I have had every version of windows and never had this problem. Thanks, Linda |

Assuming that you are plugging the headphones into the same jack as the
speakers I think it's safe to say that this is not a software problem. I am pretty sure that XP is not aware of whether or not there is something actually plugged into an analog audio port. cp "Linda" wrote in message ... I have had my pc for 2 weeks. Dumb question on my part, but have you checked the headphones in something
else like a walkman or conventional stereo to isolate the problem? "René" wrote in message news Linda wrote: I have had my pc for 2 weeks. This is the first time I have used XP. Linda,
If you're plugging the headphones directly into the CD drive, try this: Startright click My ComputerPropertiesHardware tabDevice ManagerDVD-CD-Rom drivesright click CD-Rom DrivePropertiesProperties tab, uncheck Enable digital CD audio. . . .
