XP Home can't see XP Pro
I have an XP Home and XP pro connected via a wireless
network. The XP Pro computer can see the shared files on the XP Home machine. However, whenever I try to share a file or folder on the XP Pro computer, it says it can't be shared "service not started". ICF is off, and I tried starting the service in question "computer browser" with an error message that says services are needed that are not started. I start them and the system hangs. Both computers are Workgroup MSHome, XP Pro is "Living", XP Home is "Laptop". Both can connect to the internet but "living" can't share files or folders, but can see the files "Laptop" shares. Thanks for any suggestions, Hank |

Are you sure "computer browser" is the service in question? Have you tried
starting the "Server" service? What brand machine is this? -- Ken Wickes [MSFT] This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. "Hank" wrote in message ...
