No other changes were made to the system at the same time. I have used

Every since I used the program to clear the prefetch folder, XP doesn't remember all of my desktop settings. This morning it changed my Sound scheme. I use some custom settings, like my own sounds, desktop settings. At the morning boot, XP remembers some of them but it changed my desktop background photo and cleared my custom desktop photos so I had to Browse to where they are located. Is this happening because I cleared the prefetch folder? It's been two days and two reboots since I cleared the prefetch folder and it also remains empty. I took at look at the registry key for prefetch: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters The EnablePrefetcher value is set at the default. 3, which is All: The prefetch caches boot, and application files. What would happen if I used my Acronis True Image Home 2009 to restore

layout.ini to the Prefetch folder, if Task Scheduler is not running the Prefetch Folder will not populate. Having just done a quick test I think that Task Scheduler is responsible
