display details or miniatures
I have a folder with some sub folders in Windows Explorer.
Now when I set a sub folder to display the jpg files as miniatures, at the same time all files in the main folder are also set to miniatures. This is NOT what I want. When I change the main folder to display details, the subfolder also displays the files as details. Can't the main folder and sub folders have independant display settings?? -- |\ /| | \/ |@rk \../ \/os |

The claim here is, setting an individual folder (first picture), only applies to that folder. If you use the second dialog, you can force all folders below that to use the same view. Now, the article says "template", so maybe Apply To Folders does everything in some cases ? http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-set-a...r-large-icons/ Maybe what is happening, is the folder you're working on is a "General Items" folder, and if you use Apply to Folders, it propagates to all General Items folders ? Setting a custom view might be the trick to stop it propagating everywhere. Paul |
