A friend of mine can not get a connection with other peole by clicking on
their name. On the other side; everybody can click on his name a get a
normal connection.

What could be the reason

Greetings Eric,

I've never heard of such a thing -- is it just sitting there, or is an error message coming
up, or what?

He also might try right-clicking on someone's name, choosing Send an Instant Message and see
he's able to open a window that way.
