Default Video Capture device not recognised

I am running Windows XP with a video capture
device "Medion (7134) WDM Video Capture" from Philips
Semiconductors. I am using driver version 1.6.0.2 dated
04/11/2002.

I have connected an analogue Camcorder to the "Composite
In" socket on my card.

When I try to use the Audio Wizard in Messenger the
Capture device is listed on the first window but when I
click continue I am told that my camera is "not working
properly, or in use by another programme".

My hardware setup works fine with Medion software, such
as "Video Live Mail". I can capture video and send it as
an Email, no problems.

I thought I had found the solution in the MS Knowledge
Base, because there is an article about a patch to enable
the use of an analogue TV tuner support. However, when I
downloaded the service pack, and tried to install it, it
told me that I already had a later version installed !!

Very Poor in my opinion.

So if anyone knows how to fix this shortcoming in
Messenger, or Netmeeting for that matter which is
similarly impaired, please let me know.

Thanks.
