Greetings Wolf,

Assuming you're using Windows Live Messenger 8.1 or above, all you have to do is copy over
the emoticon files. Which version of Messenger are you using and which Windows version?

Hi Wolf,

Thanks for being specific as Vista and XP store these in different locations.

For Windows XP, you'll find the files in \Documents and Settings\username\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\LiveID\ObjectStore\Custom Emoticons.

In Vista, you'll find the files in
\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\ LiveID\ObjectStore\CustomEmoticons

Where username is your Windows username and LiveID is your Windows Live ID/Passport e-mail
address. All you'll need to do is copy them from one to another. However, as a side note,
you can only copy directly when the LiveID's are the same, if they are different, Messenger
will simply ignore them.

Additionally, some of these folders will be hidden by default, to see them simply press the
Alt key on the keyboard in any Windows Explorer window to bring up the toolbar, click Tools,
then Folder Options, then the View tab, and then choose 'Show hidden files and folders'.
After click OK, they should appear with the other folders.

Finally, all these paths and options will be localized in whatever language your Windows
version is in, my apologies in advance for only giving the English paths.
