Default IM in the corporate environment

Should IM/Messanger be used in a corporate environment? What advantages does
it offer to organizations already overburdened by too much email and other
immediate communication mediums?

This is really up to you. People can abuse instant messaging very easily (but then again,
they can abuse e-mail, and the web too).
