Default curser

thanks to all who answered questions about customizing the mouse pointer.
What I really need to know is how to change the curser..that little flashing
mark at the end of a sentence, not the mouse pointer. Mine used to be
thin, and I made it fatter, but it was a long time ago, and I can't remember
how I did it. I want it back to thin, again. Thanks for any help.
