Lost APP folder

My app folder for Thunderbird disappeared. I transfer the tbird data to
laptop when traveling. It should be in Users\Bob\app\thunderbird. The
APP folder is gone, yet tbird is working on desktop computer. A search
didn't provide the answer.
Any suggestions?
