Amcap (USBPCCamPlus) doesn't seem to work, does it work for you?

That's neater. I forgot I'd left the permission on these hyperlinks for 'just me'. They're now public. The bottom two which were direct hyperlinks to files rather than the folders on my Skydrive don't work for some reason but that's hardly a problem since the two links above them work which give access to all the files via online folders. The top two links still say "We can't show you that page" but click on 'Office' and it'll show you my public and shared folders |

Here's me doing the links again from scratch. The 1st link showing a Skydrive folder. To get the 2nd link I right clicked on a zip file to reveal the context menu then 'Open Link in New Window' which showed the Skydrive page to a zip file then copied the link from the address bar. Then I right clicked on the zip file to reveal the context menu then 'copy shortcut' to ge the 3rd link which is a direct link to the actual file and not a webpage. Then i went back to the original webpage from the 1st link showing a Skydrive folder. Then went to webpage for a txt file. The 4th link is from right click on the txt file 'copy shortcut' for a direct link to the file. http://cid-64f5892d2f88d17f.office.l...0&sa=610365145 http://cid-64f5892d2f88d17f.office.l...0&sa=408653088 http://public.blu.livefilestore.com/...ownload&psid=1 http://public.blu.livefilestore.com/...cap.TXT?psid=1 |

Amcap (USBPCCamPlus) doesn't seem to work, does it work for you?

I don't have all your answers, but I have a couple: AdeW typed: On Jul 19, 9:25 pm, Paul wrote: AdeW wrote: So the same driver package should be working with that camera. Do you mean two drivers are trying to run simultanerously? Unless the instructions say to do that, it could cause a lot of problems. I eventually got round to finding a computer (called t3) which had never had the can't find 5&28CODE0&0&2 anywhere but 28CODE must be a reference to code 28 error Makes lots of sense. I stopped at actually installing the driver for sn9c120 because of the "not passed windows logo testing" message - although this same message appeared for USBPCCamPlus_v5.18.1.005_120standard(1.3M).exe. I decided to analyse the setupapi.log and snpstd3.inf files at this point. That message is pointless and generally useless as long as you trust the software you have. MS at one time dreamed of being the king of all software installations and thought the world would register their software with them. Well, no one did of course, or hardly anyone, which makes sense. If it IS MS trusted, then it should be fine to use. If it's not, it's up to the user to know where they got the software from and to know it's safe to use (free of bad code, malicious code, etc). So it's quite safe to use as long as you are sure the place you got it from is a white hat. In other words, you used common senseg. ... Again the direct-to-file link only seems to work the same day. Still atleast the two http://cid links to the folders work. Anyway I recently used another computer. This day this computer is called t4. I thought i'd check out device manager before installing HPBasic Starter Camera driver and it shows a code 1: this device is not configured correctly I've uploaded JPG screengrabs to a zip file here... http://cid-64f5892d2f88d17f.office.l....Public/t4.zip Then installed HPBSC driver and the camera worked. Then i installed amcap USBPCCamPlus_v5.18.1.005_120standard(1.3M).exe http://download.chinavasion.com/down...dard(1.3M).exe (is the file) ....tried the camera but ofcourse it wants to install sn9c120 which i resist. then uninstalled amcap. Then plug in the camera and it calls it 'usb camera' 'new hardware found' which last time i when uninstalled amcap months ago it didn't (that maybe cos i installed the sn9c120 driver too). I install HPBSC driver and test the camera and it works! This is a success - no permanent damage to the operating system. In device manager 'USB Camera' has moved from 'other devices' to 'imaging devices' that is until i installed the HPBSCdriver when in imaging devices it turned from a !(exclamation mark)"usb camera" to HP Basic Starter Camera. Screenshot of HPBSC driver properties says version 5.18.1.2 dated 16 Mar 2007. Next i want to see if i can have amcap working with the Hewlett Packard BSC driver. I did manage to install Amcap till the warning window logo message appeared and the system tray pop up said i had a webcam attached, i then unplugged my dental camera, so then i finish off the installation. Then am surprised that it wants to restart the computer because the last installation didn't want to. So I'm thinking its because the camera was plugged in during instalation. so then i restart the pc and it occurs to me that i could've tested the camera right there before restart the PC but its too late. when windows loads up theres a error message - something missing - i try amcap - it don't work and nothing in cameras and scanners. (The next test (on another day in the future) would be to install the sn9c120 driver which seems to come with amcap) I then uninstall amcap again from add remove programs - (which mentions Sonix for technical support.) My 3rd installation: i didn't have the camera plugged in but it still wanted to restart pc but before i did that, i thought i'd see if scanners and cameras in my computer had HPBSC driver and it did and the dental camera worked! I then tried amcap and it worked with the camera too! although the frame rate seemed slower than in scanners and cameras. Indeed as it shows on the screen grab, it says 3.5 fps although it also say 0.884 Meg/sec which seems a lot. Why's the frame rate so little yet the file size is so big? Any thoughts are welcome. |
