Default Yahoo Messenger Icon Change

I am using Windows XP professional. I had Yahoo Messenger
5.6 on my computer and the icon on the top toolbar as
well as the lower left corner were a yellow smiley face
with a red Y behind it. I then updated to Yahoo Messenger
6.0 and both icons changed to just a yellow smiley face.
Today I was on the computer and the icon on the top just
changed back to the 5.6 look while the icon on the lower
left stayed at 6.0 Why did it change and how can I get
the icon back to 6.0 on the top of the computer toolbar?
When I click the messenger icon on top it is the 5.6
version and when I click the icon on the lower left it is
the 6.0 version. Should I reistall Messenger again? Do I
need to completely uninstall it first or can I just
reinstall it and when prompted just click the icon on
lower left and hit exit and will the new install just
overide? Any help with this would be appreciated.
