Default Problems after having installed W95 software!!

Dear All,

I tried to install Clone Master but it apparently doesn't
run that well under XP (Home Edition).
My computer runs only in safe mode with the PCU used
between 98 and 100% by explorer and I can not uninstall
this software because file "install.log" is missing.

I guess it is all my fault...what can I do except
reformating everything????

THANKS,

Brice, desperate.

Did the install appear to complere ok ? Is there any entry in add/remoove
programs in control panel?
Is there an unintall program or script in the applicatio directory?

Has the install set up anything to run when you logon

check in start/all programs/startup

It may have also done this in the registry

Check under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

You could delete the references to it in these 2 locations.

You could try seeing if the problem goes away by finding the clone master
executables and then right click, select properties and set them to run in
windows 95 compatability mode.

Thanks Paul.

In the meantime, I did some progress (I can run my
computer almost without problem...the fan is just always
full speed (and noise) regardless of cpu and memory use).
Any idea on this one?

If not, set up run all the way through, the program
appeared in the add/remove window but I could not delete
it from there. Error was "could not find file:
install.log"...

Anyway, thanks for your time and expertise and if you can
help with the fan, that'd be GREAT!

If you're still having problems removing it, you could manually delete it
from your hard disk, and then run a registry cleaning tool.
These tools will normally flag any registry entry which points to a non
existent file, and give you a chance to delete it.
Have a look at this webpage
http://discount-evidence-eliminator....r-download.htm

There's lots of different brands, all free,

As for the fan noise, which fan, case fan, cpu fan or power supply fan ?

Whats your full hardware configuration. Makes and models.
What size of power supply 450W 400W or something else ?
