realtime Equalizer and sound correction for HDMI or DP audio?
Hello everyone!
Until now i never came across this problem, but it now appears to me. As millions of others, i use my (Windows 7) PC connected by HDMI cable to the monitor, the monitor has loudspeakers and so i don't use the computer's sound card as audio output device, instead i use the kind of virtual audio out sound-device that sends all audio to the monitor. The little audio / mixer symbol in the Windows task bar allows for simple audio changes, e.g. volume, L/R balance and rudimentary audio corrections. Not at all satisfying. My new monitor has awful sound quality and i would at least like to have some bass / trebble control or Equalizer (in realtime) to try to adjust all audio output that goes to the monitor. Until now i found no satisfactory solution at all. Came across a freeware / freemium tool named Hear but it does not please me, as it creates another virtual device that has to be turned onn and of. Is there some other solution, some way to tell the directshow CODECs to use an equalizer? Would be pleased for any hints. with many x-mas greetings from Vienna, regards from Roland Schweiger |

realtime Equalizer and sound correction for HDMI or DP audio?
Just found something that does what i need, it's a parametric EQ and low / high / bandpass filters and more, and it does not create any separate devices. It's called EqualizerAPO https://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/ A bit doggy to configure at first, but works fine (in my case under Windows7). Maybe someone else is interested. greetings Roland Schweiger |

I have full control of the TV through its own settings, by a remote control; and that has full graphic-equalization settings. I installed this equalizer to have a look at it. And I'm not very impressed. It has preamplification that works, but not much more. If you want to impress me, give me a guide through its marvellous qualities. Ed |
