Thanks Bruce

I added (aloe.org) (news.edisontel.com) and (text.news.cambrium.nl) but no
posting was allowed
even though (aloe.org) said you could!

How come there are visible posts on them servers if no posting is allowed!
I don't get it.

I have msnews also, but it doesn't have NG's like "DIY,gardening, local

I've just deleted the tiscali account and re added it, but still my
posts are not seen although I can read other and reply without error
message but still I cant see them? It must be some setting I've
overlooked I suppose, as it has worked for quite some time now without

Does any know what may have caused this or how to rectify the problem?

Could somebody send a new post entitled "Posts not showing up" and

Shows up just fine here. What are you using for a newsgroup

Ok, I'll re-iterate

I use OE6 and have two NG accounts, 1 "msnews.microsoft.com" and 2
"news.tiscali.co.uk" both have been working for some time now.
But posts to the tiscali NG account are not visible although they send
without an error and do not get returned. I thought a setting somewhere must
have been altered, but it's not the case as far as I can see.

I've just added 3 more NG's from Bruce's link, and the "aloe.org" account
stated posting allowed, but I get a message on all 3 accounts that posting
not allowed when posting in their relative test groups.

Is anyone on, or can someone add "news.tiscali.co.uk" to their mail program
and let me know if indeed Tiscali NG's are down?

vijusha,
Tiscali news and email servers, are known to have chronic outages and
problems.
It might be time to get a different Newsgroup service.

There are few "free" ones out there. And most of them usually do not carry
"alt.binaries.***" newsgroups. If you desire the binary newsgroups, you
might
need to subscribe to a pay service, like GIGANews.

For a free non binary news service, consider www.motzarella.org . They may
not
carry all the newsgroups that you are interested in. You will need to
register
with them with a valid email address, so that you can see all the
newsgroups
that they offer, and have the ability to post to those newsgroups. Which
is why
they can offer their service for free at this time. Which then require you
to
subscribe to a
pay service.

For Microsoft specic news groups, add news://msnews.microsoft.com to you
news
reader application/client.

I read that link in your previous post and although informative, it does not
answer my question, and they have just been thrown a lifeline by the loan
sharks were as they are letting them re-pay in smaller increments
apparently.

I'm hoping it's just that the NG is down at the moment for whatever
reason... as someone else stated; "they'll have to wait untill the office
junior has returned from his holidays before he can sort it"

But if someone could subscribe to said group at least they could be of
service and see if they get the same result as me!

Tiscali is trying to compete on price. This means they cannot offer the
service that others charging more can. The company is additionally under
financial pressure from creditors so the best staff will leave and be
replaced, if they are replaced, by newcomers with less experience. You could
be riding a Titanic!

I'm hoping it's just that the NG is down at the moment for whatever
reason... as someone else stated; "they'll have to wait untill the
office junior has returned from his holidays before he can sort it"

But if someone could subscribe to said group at least they could be of
service and see if they get the same result as me!

Ok, I'll re-iterate

I use OE6 and have two NG accounts, 1 "msnews.microsoft.com" and 2
"news.tiscali.co.uk" both have been working for some time now.
But posts to the tiscali NG account are not visible although they
send without an error and do not get returned. I thought a setting
somewhere must have been altered, but it's not the case as far as I
can see.
I've just added 3 more NG's from Bruce's link, and the "aloe.org"
account stated posting allowed, but I get a message on all 3
accounts that posting not allowed when posting in their relative
test groups. Is anyone on, or can someone add "news.tiscali.co.uk" to
their mail
program and let me know if indeed Tiscali NG's are down?

vijusha,
Tiscali news and email servers, are known to have chronic outages
and problems.
It might be time to get a different Newsgroup service.

There are few "free" ones out there. And most of them usually do
not carry "alt.binaries.***" newsgroups. If you desire the binary
newsgroups, you might
need to subscribe to a pay service, like GIGANews.

For a free non binary news service, consider www.motzarella.org .
They may not
carry all the newsgroups that you are interested in. You will need
to register
with them with a valid email address, so that you can see all the
newsgroups
that they offer, and have the ability to post to those newsgroups.
Which is why
they can offer their service for free at this time. Which then
require you to
subscribe to a
pay service.

For Microsoft specic news groups, add news://msnews.microsoft.com
to you news
reader application/client.

I have msnews also, but it doesn't have NG's like "DIY,gardening,
local regions etc etc.
I've just deleted the tiscali account and re added it, but still my
posts are not seen although I can read other and reply without
error message but still I cant see them? It must be some setting
I've overlooked I suppose, as it has worked for quite some time now
without any problem untill now. Does any know what may have caused
this or
how to rectify the problem?
Thanks

Tiscali is trying to compete on price. This means they cannot offer the
service that others charging more can. The company is additionally under
financial pressure from creditors so the best staff will leave and be
replaced, if they are replaced, by newcomers with less experience. You could
be riding a Titanic!

Thanks Gerry

I read that link in your previous post and although informative, it
does not answer my question, and they have just been thrown a
lifeline by the loan sharks were as they are letting them re-pay in
smaller increments apparently.

Don't use "news.tiscali.co.uk".

Why not?
