Make multiple cmd windows default to same location?
JJ said:
I just noticed. My system no longer prompt me that dialog. ?(o.O)? Well, no matter. I could simply change the setting back if I need to, or delete the unused saved window titles in the registry directly. It's working perfectly for me but I agree you can just change the settings back if you don't like them. Thank you for this help since my use model is currently: a. Manually download a set of ovpn files from vpngate.net b. Doubleclick on the first one which opens up a cmd window c. If it fails, doubleclick on the next one d. If that fails, continue until one of the ovpn files works Once I get one that works, I just move that one window off to the side, and I can easily click through the ones that failed, which are all now stacked exactly on top of each other (so hitting [x] kills them quickly). This method isn't necessary usually if I just downloaded the ovpn config files within the last hour; but I save the ovpn config files for weeks, so, when I go to a directory filled with a hundred of those old ovpn files, only about 1 in 10 still works. That's why this method of stacking command windows is efficient! Thank you for solving the problem of stacking command windows! |

By the way, the other thread about wget is to solve that problem of it being a pain to download the ovpn files manually. I save the ovpn files for months because it's a pain to download new ones. If we could get the wget to work, then it wouldn't be a pain to download new ones. So the two problems are related, but they're on opposite ends of the problem set. |
