Cannot find other half of my 250Gig Hard drive

Hello all...
I needed more staorage so i went and purchased a 250 Gig HD. I also decided
to reinstall windows just to have a clean start. Well any way XP setup
declared that it needed to partition the larger drive. so ok i let it do its
thing. well now i cannot find it. I currently am only able to see 168 Gig of
the 250. I need a non-destructive way or method of finding my other half of
the drive. (have already tried disk managment and also ran the set up disk to
see if the setup wizard would see it to no avail.) Help!!!

Are you certain you see 168GB and not 137 GB of the new drive?

Do you mean 128?

The original XP release does not properly support drives over 128GB. See-

I have Atapi.sys version 5.1.2600.1135
and i also have sp2 and no i only see 168 gig
