unable to remove scanner software

My scanner is not working. It was working fine before then
something happened and it stopped working. Now whenever i
try to install the scanner software it always asks me "Do
you want to completely remove the scanner software". When
i press yes it shows me that it is removing the software
but it does not disappear from add remove programs in
control panel. And when i try to install it again it
always asks me that same question "Do you want to remove
the scanner software"

Simply! unable to uninstall scanner software

Plz help!

Now tell us what make/model scanner and the connection (USB
or parallel) and whether you are using an account with admin
rights?
