You have the conservative view that whatever you can grab without actually killing someone is fair game. You think the evil businessman cares if people die, so that they can have a bigger yacht? Subhuman, primordial slime votes for Drumpf. Really no good alternative, but clear which is the worst. I agree. I have never voted for anyone, but always find myself voting against the greater evil. I think politics attracts the worst people. The greediest, the power hungry, the least competent to lead, the dishonest, the people who got where they are by kissing ass, and manipulating others.... The absolute dregs of society. The people who might make the best leaders, couldn't be dragged into office kicking and screaming. They have too much integrity to abase themselves playing that game. What frustrates me, is just about everyone votes against someone, rather than for someone. You don't have to vote D or R, but if too few people never vote for another possibility, things will never change. So if you are one that votes against someone rather than for someone that is closer to you, and you don't get what you want, STFU. You created the situation! In a perfect world... The only dildo heads that make it to the primaries are the ones who are career politicians. They sold their souls long ago. It would be more effective if people studied the issues and attempted to vote from a position of understanding, rather than pick the bozo they recognize (due to a lot of expensive and skillful manipulation) but that isn't how it is done. Term limits is a good idea, but no one who thinks politics is a career is going to do more than pay lip-service to that idea. Accountability would be another good idea. Have strict standards and enforce them. We have plenty of politicians that seem to think rules don't apply to them. Corporate CEOs' ditto - hold them accountable, they get the big bucks yet seem to conjure up excuses when things go awry... or they get caught. The idea that the head of a company can just skate by saying they don't understand the accounting their firm uses to cook the books should never be allowed as a defense. What are those bozos getting the bucks for, only the instantaneous price of the stock? I like the US navy's model - ultimately the commander is held accountable. A raw recruit can be directly responsible - but ultimately the commander was in charge of his qualifications, training, and trust placed in him. If he can't do the job, he shouldn't be in the job. |
