Samsung android to XP printer?
What is the trick for printing from a Samsung to an XP attached
printer? I can get to it fine on WiFi from a laptop. You did not say which printer model. First, grab the printer driver app from Google Play store into your android. Then set it up. I cannot help you with set up. I have installed an HP printer driver on my Android. I have set up the HP printer as a WiFi network printer. I can print the HP WiFi settings to get the IP address. This is used in the set of the android HP printer driver. I use the HP as the color printer for my entire network. I works for my WinXP machine and one of my Win10 machines. I can not get it to work on my Win10 Pro machine. It may be a network problem. Good luck. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

Samsung android to XP printer?
However, Android does not perform SMB or NT Share printing.
One (I) can download android apps that handle SMB and browse windows network shares. Heck, one can download an android app for Remote Desktop Protocol. With a windows desktop on your android, one could connect to an XP attached printer. Heck, there must be an easier solution. If it was a USB printer, one could use a microUSB / USB adapter to connector directly to the USB printer. First, download the app driver for that particular printer. When there is a will, there is the app store. Stock android is quite limited because it is designed for a limited machine. The app store permits such limits to be overcome, with the limit that it is an app rather than an OS driver that does the work. My suggestions would take many hours querying the app store and many hours in setup. Money always trumps work. One could purchase more gear and do less work. --- news://freenews.netfront.net/ - complaints: --- |

I know I can get a blue tooth adapter but then I would not be able to get to this from my network PCs. I will have her look for an app and a Brother 5140 driver. |
