Missing file in Windows XP SP1

I ran sfc /scannow and it ran right through and closed by
itself without saying it had found anything wrong. The
error message is still there! But many thanks for your
suggestion, Daniel - I'll keep searching around.

a suggestion, go to start run sfc /scannow and it will
scan your computer for missing system files. you need
your xp cd and im not sure if it will scan it for
originals, so you might need to reinstall SP1 after
scanning

Viewer' an error entry for 'Service Control Manager'

that the ScsiAccess service cannot be started because a
certain file cannot be found. I carried on checking

it said the missing file is 'ScsiAccess.exe'. I have
tried 'searching' My Computer for this file, but it
cannot be found.

It appears to be a system file, and I am hoping someone
will be able to tell me where I can find it so I can
restore it, as its absence seems to be affecting my
display.

Hi, have you a SCSI drive or adaptor, or maybe you have a motherboard that
has raid onboard. If so try installing those drivers from the CD that came
with it, or, post up what your motherboard is.....
