Default Why so cheap?

I was in Staples earlier today. Windows 8 Pro for 49 pounds sterling!
I can't remember any previous version going so cheaply. They were
usually about 100.

They expect to make the money back, on the App Store.
Every developer product sold, they get a cut.

I downloaded upgrade from Microsoft and burnt on DVD from iso file.

I bought a total of 4 keys and upgraded all 4 computers in our home

40 dollars plus tax comes to 45 dollars. It is a real bargain.

Once you have one upgrade DVD just buy the key on line use your DVD to do
installation. There is no need to download repeatedly.

I did buy one dvd from Microsoft.

An interesting article to read

And probably not be popular as other Windows.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next few months. I
should think that the glitzy face of Win8 will appeal to younger people;
although not to us the older generation.

Me = Older generation who prefer non-tablet computers! I can see W8 fine
for tablets and touch screens. I couldn't stand it for test desktop PCs.
Ugh.

I recommend that you do not have opinions like "I couldn't stand it"
for something you haven't tried.

I wasn't sure that I would like it before I tried it. But as it turned
out, even with my desktop without a touch screen, it didn't take me
very long to get accustomed to it, and I like it pretty well. And my
guess is that I will like it even more after I get more experience
with it. But I'll see.

I use it at work on my desktop test machines for SQA testings. I have
been using it since its early builds before the consumer preview release.
