Default revised release date for windows 10 1809

It has been nearly a month since MS tried to release 1809.

I have heard that it is being released slowly to the tech users.

Has there been any dates released when it will be available to the
average user?

No.

No. But it will probably be very soon.

Why should anyone care when the next update is released, unless they're
part of the IDK group? All I want from any version of an OS is that it
works reliably, and if it takes years for an update to accomplish that,
it's fine with me.

I'm an average user running a more or less untouched bog standard
installation of Windows 10 Home 64 bit on an HP laptop.

OS build info shows: Version 1809 OS build 17763.55 Installed on
03/10/2018 (UK 3rd October)

My 1809 was installed on 10-25-18 (US 25th October)

It installed painlessly when released and I've had no problems
since.

The 1809 installation on my laptop made my brightness control unstable.
Occasionally it quit working and the OS had to be rebooted to restore
it. Though Device Manager said the driver was up to date, I found a
newer one on the Intel site and installed it. It solved the problem
temporarily. But then Windows Update didn't recognize it as new and
replaced it with the old driver. So I reinstalled the new driver and
suppressed the Windows driver update. So far it's been working. Keeping
my fingers crossed. If anyone is having a similar problem here is the link:

1809 has caused problems for some people, but not for others. It
depends on what options you have set, and perhaps what hardware
you have.

Like you, I've had no problems with it.

I had 1809 installed on my 10-year-old netbook and I noticed no
problems for a couple of weeks. Then the computer died suddenly, but it
was a hardware failure totally unrelated to the update. I now have a
new laptop and am in no hurry to update it.

I don't blame you. You should wait until 1809 is rereleased. Despite
my having had no problems with 1809 on this computer, if I replaced it
with a new computer, I wouldn't be in a hurry for it either.
