Removing Newsgroup Messages
I have downloaded several thousand newsgroup messages and I would like to delete/remove them from my computer. When I try to delete them it says I was not the original poster so I don't have permission. I don't want to delete them from the newsgroup, I only want to clear them off of my hard drive. Any suggestions? |

Any suggestions? You can't as such using Mozilla. What you CAN do is to set the time for retention of messages. When the message age goes beyond the time set, it will be purged. Just go to the dbx folder group and identify The Microsoft Newsgroup Folders
[there will be one for each specific newsgroup you have visited] and delete the entire folder. DO NOT open the folder and attempt to delete individual messages. Out look Express will rebuild the folder the next time you go back to that Newsgroup. Gene "mpdd" wrote in message ... Change your Newsgroup to only show unread files. Mark the entire Newsgroup
as read. Now only new messages will be displayed. -- Darrell R. Schmidt B-58 Hustler History: http://members.cox.net/dschmidt1/ - "mpdd" wrote in message ... If you checked the headers, however, you'd notice they are NOT using OE. Please don't post "matter of factly" when you don't know the facts. |
