No internet connection on primary partition
Running Windows XP, SP2. Right after scanning for spyware, removing
and rebooting, my computer refused to obtain an IP address, and I couldn't get connected no matter what I tried. I tried doing a windows repair, resetting the BIOS, deleting HOSTS file, reinstalling the network card driver. Nothing is working. I installed XP on a new partition and it works fine here. I probably could do a fresh install and move all my documents, but I'm really curious what the culprit could be, so I wanna isolate and troubleshoot it. I just don't ****ing understand how the problem could persist after a Windows repair, because all the system files are reinstalled and replaced, so what could it be? What other areas should I try troubleshooting? Thanks. |
