Twenty plus years ago, I did. None of the viruses I authored are
operational as is on any modern version of Windows. And, haven't
been since 16bit DOS emulation was dropped in the NTVDM console.

While they can still technically execute on a sufficiently old
enough machine, that same machine would have to not be running any
resident antivirus of any kind. As well, if it had an antivirus that
