produkey and dead disk
I have a dead windows xp computer, it doesn't boot safely neither safe mode
(command prompt non tested) starting with linux live I was able to recover those few files changed since this night backup so on this side no problem Now I should reinstall but the serial number stick is not any more on the case, there is just the sign of the glue :/ how can I recover the serial no? I know that I should try nirsoft produkey, connecting the dead disk to a working computer, but the disk is/was part of a raid 1 system and I'm not sure it will work, so: which files shall I get from the dead disk to put on a usb stick and later use this stick into a working pc running produley? TIA -- /-\ /\/\ /\/\ /-\ /\/\ /\/\ /-\ T /-\ -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- -=- - -=- http://www.bb2002.it ............ [ al lavoro ] ........... |

TIA https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produc...ey_viewer.html produkey.exe /regfile "F:\WINNT\system32\config\software" It looks like it is accessing the SOFTWARE registry file. The Nirsoft documentation page offers that much of a hint. Paul |
