clear the messenger sign in history
Hello!
I would like to clear the sign in history of messenger 4.7. What I did is: Press start. Then Control Panel. Then User Accounts. Pick your Account Then click on Manage my network passwords under the Related Task Block. Then hieghlight the email you want to remove. Then press Remove. Then press Ok. But unfortunately, the messenger didn't respond when i pressed delete. The e-mailadresses are still on the list... How can I solve this problem? |

clear the messenger sign in history
Greetings,
Are you using the Dutch version of Windows XP? Unfortunately, there is a current bug in the Dutch version of Windows XP which prevents you from removing passport information from your account. As such, this won't work, and there is no other way of doing it. As far as I know, this hasn't been fixed, but you may want to run WindowsUpdate (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com on that computer to see if there's an update that will fix this). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Katrien" wrote in message ... Greetings Colin,
Yes there are certainly is. Simply download and run this .reg file: http://messenger.jonathankay.com/dow...lenetcreds.reg After running, you'll need to reboot to see the change and after the reboot, *no* names will be in the history, and none will be added again. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Colin" wrote in message ... I am trying to setup a cyber cafe. I want to use MSN Messnger as part of my suite of applications. The problem that I have is that wach time a user logs on, the details of the previous user is still visible on messenger. Is there any way of clearing these details, with out any user intervention, ie. i don't want to have to log on myself, delete the .net details, then have to log off, as this is not a viable solution. Is there anyone out there that can help me. Thanks in advance |
