Sorry Alice. Not at the moment, and I don't know if any of the recent
updates could have done this. Have you installed any applications around
the time this began and how long has this gone on? Can you give an

example
of an original name and it changes to? It's curious that the name change
would change a file extension because I wouldn't expect this. Always

make
sure you have a legit extension also as in
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,6155-916997,00.html this example. If it's
recent, why not try System Restore if you have a restore point before this
occured? You can always undo a restore with a mouse click unless it's
done in Safe Mode, and if need be, you could then add the updates one by

one
to see if any is causing the problem.

Hi All,

I'm having a problem changing the names of pictures. I right click on
them
and then select change name, then I get a thing that asks me if I want

to
change the extension. If I click on no then it doesn't work. If I

click
on
yes, the name changes and so does the extension. It seems to be

happening
every time I try to change the name of music too. I just installed the
latest updates from windows. I was wondering if this could have changed
something. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Alice
