Hiya ladies and gents.

I'm downloading SP2 for XP Pro and the extension is .psf. I'm just wondering
what kind of file this is and how to run it once I've burnt it to CD?

Oh right. In that case..... download cancelled.

Is there anywhere I can download it from that doesn't require an MSDN
subscription?

Mike,
I realised the "final" release wasn't available yet but didn't know
the URL I'd been given on alt.comp.freeware was incorrect.

Unfortunately, Microsoft have not replied to my request concerning the beta
(sent a request a few weeks ago) and I'm not an MSDN subscriber (mainly
because I can't afford it gg).

You should avoid links that are supplied to you via third party sites that
are trying to circumvent the proper controlled processes to access to our
software. You never know what you are actually getting is what you expect
and you certainly will get no support for a product or patch that has not
yet been released and you are not on one of the formal release programs for.

If you have not heard back by now you may not be on the beta program but we
do add candidates as we widen the scope of the releases so you may still be
included later. If so you will be notified by e-mail.

Mike,
Thanks for the info.

I don't normally access third party site's but as you can see, the URL
appears to be an "official" one so I decided to take a chance \
