!@#$% Administrator Question
I'm getting frustrated as I possibly have done something wrong.
I know how to become the Administrator - - - only in an attempt to become one, too. Although I know this is unwise to surf the Web as an Administrator. I intended becoming a different user for surfing. The Administrator is the only one who can download - - - *and it appears* - - - use new programs. Can I get out of this mess as I have already downloaded a new program? Many, many thanks, David.. |

Create a limited user account and use it for surfing and/or other daily activity. Keep your current admin account for installing software. Easiest is to log off of limited and onto admin account for heavy duty admin tasks. However many "light" tasks can be done while still logged on to your limited account. Check the help file for more information on "Run As " and you'll find that you can supply admin credentials (while logged on to the limited account) to proceed with tasks that normally won't run under the limited account. Since you are currently using an admin account, I don't understand what the problem is with the already downloaded program. -- Sharon F MS-MVP ~ Windows Shell/User |
