command prompt settings
Can anyone tell me where the settings for the command prompt are stored ?
I am fed up with windows just appearing wherever they want, instead of where I want them. I want to change the settings for command prompt windows that are initiated by other programs (e.g. SETI@home), but cannot find any .ini, .cfg, or even a .pif file for the built in command prompt. Presumably these settings are buried in the registry somewhere. I have googled for it, but can't find much of any use. Thanks, Stu. |

command prompt settings
Some of these settings are reached by.....
Start | Run | cmd | OK | Right click the top border of the command window | Properties Better off making changes there or in a shortcut to cmd.exe than in the Registry. Start | All Programs | Accessories | Right click: Command Prompt | Properties Here are a few of the locations in the Registry where this info is stored. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Environment HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Console HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Console Open Help and Support and type: cmd in the Search box and look around. -- Hope this helps.
