Yes, that must be it! I am so powerful.

Next, I will debug my software without leaving my bed.

Best to debug your bed first.

I tried a DNS lookup for news.e-s.org and reader.e-s.org. They all

DNS appears to have been fudged up.

That sounds normal to me. I expect all of those DNS entries to resolve
to the same IP. They don't have to, of course, but if it's a small
operation then that would be expected.

Odd that they say it's working but both reader..... and news..... both
fail for me.** port 119.

Yet I can ping both and they both resolve to the same IP.** I've checked
everything in Thunderbird but can't find a single issue, and since
nothing changed, nothing should be wrong with TB settings.** Oh well,
I'll wait for a while and see what happens.

Hi Al, same problem here, not working on news or reader But got it
working on Reader80 on port 80 which is what I am using now.

Rene

Me too. As of the 9th or 10th of September, neither news nor
reader.eternal-september.org were working, so I looked on their webpage
and it said reader80. So I used that. If they don't keep it working,
September really will be eterrnal.

reader.eternal-September.org is working here with SSL on port 563.
It's been working this way for several days now.
