Messenger 5.0

I now have messenger 5.0, and tried to delete regular
messenger. But it won't let me. My problem is I'm using
5.0 now and when i go check my outlook mail it
automaticly opens up the old messenger so then i have 2
open so i go back down to bottom right and exit the mess.

You can remove Windows Messenger 4.7 (the old one), but if you do, you will be preventing
Remote Assistance, Whiteboard, Application Sharing and any other applications that utilize
Messenger from working (or loading without problems).

Instead, to stop Windows Messenger from loading with Outlook or Outlook Express:

For Outlook (XP/2002), just open Outlook, click the Tools menu, then Options, then the Other
tab, and uncheck 'Enable Instant Messaging in Microsoft Outlook'. For Outlook Express, close
Outlook Express, and run this .reg file:

You'll need to start Outlook Express to see the change.
