Default no sound

i supposedly have a sound card in my harddrive, but i
can't get any sound from my pc. I don't have external
speakers or microphone.

The only sound you will get from your interal (motherboard) speaker is
a series of "beeps" during startup, designed to tell a tech support
person what is going on during startup

All other sound is sent from the sound card to external speakers
