Default Copying contacts from Outlook address book

One of the users I support wants to know if it is possible to add all of his
contacts from a particular Outlook email distribution list to his Windows IM
contacts at one time - in 1 step. In other words, if he has 5 contacts, he
doesn't want to repeat the steps 5 times.

Is this possible?

Yes there is, but there's steps involved which would probably make just typing them in be a
lot faster and practical.
