Default HTTP stuck at first

In article ,
says...
I am so curios about displaying HTTP result in my system. Our link is
using Satellite for both uplink (VSAT) and downlink (Broadband). At
the client, we use MS Windows XP + IE 6.

The Internet browser seems stuck for a while (+/- 3-4 second) before
displaying the full page in 1 blink of eyes. Is it because of latency
or
something else?

Your advise is very appreciated. Many thanks for your kind help.

Best Regards,

Awie

Yes, that is due to latency. When you are using satellite internet
connections you are sending and receiving data through the satellite
that is about 22,000 miles out in space. That distance causes a delay in
the response to your request for a web page.

Many pages would take a long time to load because each item on the page
is received by separate requests for data. To speed things up, the
satellite ISP will use an accelerator program to send you the entire
page all at once.

I hope this helps a little. Good luck and happy surfin'
