Default Remote Desktop Protocol and Desktop Size?

When I access my home PC from work (Both using XP) my screen is
smaller at work. When I get home things have shifted around or I see
already open windows half off the screen. Is there a way to have the
RDP client scale the window so that things are smaller on the remote
end, and it fits inside the window?
I remember VNC has this option - but I don't want to use VNC for
obvious security reasons.
Thanks!

1) you can use another user account to log in to your remote computer with
remote desktop
2)You can increase the display adapter resolution of the work PC.
a) You can do this fast using 1st quickres (free edition) from
www.greenparrots.com

I know how to change the resolution on the screen, but I was hoping
that for example it could show the remote PCs window at half size.
