You can gate crash these events but let me tell you one thing: you will only meet very old people talking rubbish all the time. If you are my age (I am 32) you'll get bored with them. Some of then are now here passing their last few days on this planet. I have bottles of Champagne ready to be opened one by one when I read their obituaries. Do you really want to travel all that way? I am UK and still I don't go to these events never mind where they are. You would be better off going to this one: http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2014/12/11/join-us-to-hear-about-the-next-chapter-of-windows-10/ Good luck. |

Why are you saying in UK live many old people talking rubbish? I know old people that are very smart but they usually don't go to those events. They have the same rights to write their texts as you have the right to get drunk and have fun with 32 girls. If you're lucky you'll feel old some day. In Spain they have sunshine and warm waters. |

Two out of three authors... First we have "Good Guy" that doesn't know
its message includes formatting that is incompatible with UseNet. And then "Larry Cooper" doesn't do UseNet formatting, either. Since this group isn't included in Google Groups, maybe they are Google Groups users stepping out of their box. "Larry Cooper" wrote in : "Good Guy" escreveu na mensagem ... You haven't seen a pack of vultures hanging around in XP, Win7 and Windows 8 newsgroups. They are in their 80s and all they do is post useless stuff or insults people for asking questions which they don't understand because English may not be the first language of the poster. I can list them here but that means I'll need to open all my kill-filters to find them. I don't see many of their posts now that TB's filtering system is working very well indeed. |

But in fact most experienced UseNet users do not insult others for bad
English. Most of us have been on the Internet for a long time and it's an established Internet protocol to allow non-native English speakers some slack. But if you start insulting others, you might want to become self-aware at least enough to know that your posting format is incompatible with UseNet. And please do refrain from talking about your imaginary kill file friend. That's just another sign of inexperience. -- Good Guy hello.world example.com wrote in news:m6irf3$9v8$1 news.mixmin.net: Path: eternal-september.org!mx02.eternal-september.org!feeder.eternal-september.org!news.mixmin.net!.POSTED!not-for-mail From: Good Guy hello.world example.com Newsgroups: alt.comp.os.windows-8 Subject: Contact Me Date: Sun, 14 Dec 2014 02:08:35 +0000 Organization: Mixmin Message-ID: m6irf3$9v8$1 news.mixmin.net References: m6ick5$oh5$1 dont-email.me m6idbc$oc9$1 news.albasani.net m6idvo$tmh$1 dont-email.me m6ijgo$27m$1 news.datemas.de Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="------------010800070902050102080808" Injection-Date: Sun, 14 Dec 2014 02:08:35 +0000 (UTC) Injection-Info: news.mixmin.net; posting-host="SkC/aZ6XqONF4VYmp2PS9QDxB7w"; logging-data="10216"; mail-complaints-to="abuse mixmin.net" User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.3.0 In-Reply-To: m6ijgo$27m$1 news.datemas.de Xref: mx02.eternal-september.org alt.comp.os.windows-8:20981 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit On 13/12/2014 23:52, Larry Cooper wrote: I'm not very old but I'm older than you. A: Top-posting. Q: What is the most annoying thing on Usenet and in e-mail? Although I almost never top-post, my view is different from yours. I don't mind top-posting in reply to a short message, or to a message that's been made short by adequate trimming. A top-posted reply to a long message makes me scroll down to the bottom to see what it's about, then back up to the top to read the reply. So to me, "the most annoying thing on Usenet and in e-mail" is inadequate trimming. |

Whatever annoys you... You should understand that complaining only helps
if the poster might not know what he is doing. Letting others know what annoys you isn't really a good idea, otherwise. |

Nothing annoys me in usenet, I realize that's only text, if you don't want, you don't have to read. Never filtered any user. Real life is a little different. There are people who make wrong things or the contrary of what you want on purpose. Sometimes best thing to do is keep quite. To those people if you let them know what you love, they won't give or try to do the opposite. I you say something annoys you, they'll keep giving you ****. |
