I love Windows 8.1 but Windows 9 has me salivating
I went from XP to Windows 8. Didn't see any real problems. I had to adjust but
every machine had a desktop icon on the Metro side. Never did understand what people's problems were with it except it was different. And Windows 8 was even better. Windows 9 sounds like it will be good as well. But honestly never understood all the hate because of Metro. Didn't like it, just click the desktop tile on Metro. Done. |

The future for Microsoft would be to make a login for all users. So for example if my login is called "Glen68" I could login to any computer anywhere with Windows 9 or whatever and see all my programs. They wouldnt necessarily be installed, but the icons would be there and if I click them. The main point is that I should have access to "my computer" from any computer. However, it would require a huge Cloudserver, but this isnt real the issue since it should also be easy to set up a homecloud, like a NAS. That I could access through my user with ease. As of today we have many cloud services. But nothing that makes your entire digital life "a user". I would like to see basic stuff, like maplayout/files, wallpaper, all icons etc from where ever. But as I said, it wouldnt be necessarily to be able to open all of the files/programs, just show them and ask me if I'd like to download/install them on this new login computer. |

Correct I am now evaluating Windows 10 You can still have those "tiles" if you want, but they are not forced upon the user...this one may be a good one. |

There is nothing to understand except that people on these newsgroups are in their 80s and so they are tired of learning new things. They are using mirrors and smoke to get latest news about world affairs. You can't teach them or tell them anything because in no time they will be at you like a bunch of vultures calling you all sorts of names. I have been there and now all I now do is to tell them what is right for me and what I am using without starting an argument for nothing with them. Statistically, they won't be here for long!!!!. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D |
