Default Xbox 360 and BT Home Hub as wireless dongle?

Posted to another group but no replies, maybe someone here can answer it.

Have an Xbox 360 connected via ethernet cable to a 3Com wireless
modem/router and it
works OK but I have a cable going right across my living room.
I have an old BT Wireless Home Hub, the white one, not the newer type. Is
it possible to get this to work as a wireless adapter for the Xbox? My ISP
is not BT.
I believe I read somewhere that it can be done but that it will only work
with WEP encryption, I currently use WPA-SK.
Alternatively will any wireless adapter work with the Xbox or must it be the
MS approved one which costs over £50?
