Default Missing "Association" tab in Wireless network properties

I'm running XP SP3 with a newly-installed Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN wireless
card. I'm using Windows Zero Configuration to configure it (and the service
is started). Oddly, Windows won't remember my wireless networks. I have to
enter my password for my home (WPA) network every time I connect. And when I
click on Add under Preferred networks on the WIFi Properties page and the
Wireless network properties page opens, there is no Association tab! There
are only tabs for Authentication and Connection!

Any suggestions of things to try or how regain control over the wireless
networks?
Thanks in advance.
