Sorry of my english, I'm italian....but please try to help me I'm getting
crazy!!!

I've a pentium 4 2,2ghz on a notebook, with 1GB ddr ram, win xp

pro,
and hdd 40gb splitted in two C: with 11,7 gb and D: with 25,5gb.
The problem is that I click somewhere and it happens something after 2-5
seconds....
Example:
1) I click start then programs....and before seeing the menu with all the
programs it takes several seconds.
2) I can click insert-add signature in Outlook express only after 3-5
seconds of opening the menu, than before is gray.....

It seams that the computer is looking in the hdd what it should do....

3) Startup fast enough.....after booting (it has loaded everything) I move
the mouse....that takes 3-5 seconds before the sign begin to move on the
screen

I've made several defrags, I've uninstalled the critical update pack (1)
814033, I've read a lot of treads but in noone I've found my problem.

The energy saving is set to never stop the hdd......but it seams that the

pc
is looking for something that it doesn't find.....

PLEASE HELP ME
best reguards
