Windows Firewall on SP2-RC1
I installed SP2-RC1 for XP today. When trying to check
out the new Windows Firewall I got an error saying the settings could not be displayed due to an unidentified error (really??? that sucks.) So I was unable to see the interface for the firewall or configure it in any way. I've looked around for anyone having a similar experience but haven't found anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for the feedback. Kevin |

Hi Kevin
There are News Groups specific to SP2 - you might like to try those: http://communities.microsoft.com/new...xpsp2&slcid=us -- Will Denny MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Kevin Marasco" wrote in message ... | I installed SP2-RC1 for XP today. Also, the SP2-RC1 has reached the "end of life". That is to say: MS Beta
group is not supporting it anymore since RC2 is out. "Kevin Marasco" wrote in message ... I installed SP2-RC1 for XP today. Windows Firewall on SP2-RC1
That is not correct about RC2. It is not out yet, but seems to be getting
close. No firm dates have been mentioned by Microsoft on it's release. SP2-RC1 Build 2096 is still the current build for public use. -- Tedd Riggs PDA Square Content Developer www.pdasquare.com Redmond, WA "Yves Leclerc" wrote in message ... Per Mike's post late yersterday in the SP2 NG, RC2 has not been released yet: " That (the release of a build to windowsupdate) was a mistake and no, RC2 will not be released tonight, we are still not done yet. -- Regards, Mike -- Mike Brannigan [Microsoft] " |

Except that is is NOT 'out' and not likely to be for another week or more SP2 at the moment is available for *Evaluation* and you are strictly warned not to use it in a production environment unless you can revert to a previous state of the system without loss -- Alex Nichol MS MVP (Windows Technologies) Bournemouth, U.K. (remove the D8 bit) |
