Default Defrag this drive?

Hi all,

I've got an external hard drive that I back-up everything onto. There is
only the back-up file on this drive. Should I be trying to defrag this
drive?

Thanks in advance.

If you don't ever erase anything from this drive you're fine not
defragging it. Otherwise, the drive may benefit from an occasional
defrag, but I doubt that you'd need to do so very often. I've had a
backup external drive for over a year that I may have defragged once.

Hopefully, you will never need to read the backup files. Hence, whatever
benefit defragmentation gives you will not be present on this drive. So,
don't bother.
