Default Printing problem

I get the following error

An error occored during the instalation of the device.
The required section was not found in the INF

When trying to install a HP J3680 Office Jet Multi Function

Any ideas how to fix/get around this problem?

HP and Microsoft techs have not been any help

TIA

Download the current drivers & software from HP's web site.
Use the uninstall utility first if the drivers were ever partially or
unsuccessfully previously installed.
Install the downloaded drivers before you connect the printer to the
computer. The install process may prompt you to connect the printer.
Usually, some problems can be eliminated by installing as a locally
connected device first -- if you are networking the MFC.
The reference to a missing inf file seems to indicate that you are trying to
install using Plug & Play, which does not always work, esp. with
multifunction devices.
